The National Assembly adopted at second reading amendments to the Labour Code. The MPs decided that the minimum wage should be 50% of the average salary in the country. According to the amendments, the amount of the minimum salary for the next calendar year will be set by September 1 of the current year and will amount to 50% of the average gross wage for a period of 12 months, which includes the last two quarters of 2022 and the first two trimesters of 2023.
Until now, the minimum wage for the country was set by the Council of Ministers. /BGNES
